What is RingSide?

RingSide is a skill-based trading game. You trade real, live market prices with virtual money in short, time-boxed rounds, and you are ranked against the other players in the round, not against the market. Whoever is ahead at the close wins the pot of virtual chips.

It is not gambling and not real-money trading. There are no deposits, no withdrawals and no payout in money. The chips have no monetary value, and the result comes from your trading decisions, not from chance. Prices are real market data, the portfolios are not.

How a round is decided

Every round is settled by the same three rules. Here they are.

  • Same starting capital for everyone
    Every participant in a round gets the same trading capital. Being here longer or holding more chips is no head start.
  • Valued at the close
    Settlement uses the price that applied at the end of the round, not whatever price happens to show when someone opens the page later. Open positions are closed at that same moment.
  • No round without a verifiable price
    If no price exists for the moment the round ends, for example because the data feed dropped, the round is voided and all stakes are returned in full.
