Paper trading with friends
The honest problem with paper trading in a group is bookkeeping. Someone has to make sure everyone had the same money, the same prices and the same deadline. A timed round does that for you.
Three steps
From an invite code to a shared result.
- 1
Create a private round
Pick the number of players, 2, 5 or 10, and a duration from 15 minutes to 1 week. The round gets an invite code.
- 2
Share the code
Send it in your group chat or invite friends by name. The round starts when it is full, or the creator starts it from two players.
- 3
Settle on the clock
Everyone trades the same live prices with the same 1,000 virtual USDT. At the close the return ranks the field and the result gets a page you can share.
What makes a group game fair
Same capital
Within a round, every player trades with the same 1,000 virtual USDT. The stake in chips is separate. It depends only on the duration, 10 chips for 15 minutes up to 160 chips for a week, and the creator of a private round sets it.
Same prices, same second
All trades fill at one shared price snapshot that is published once per second, at the mid price, with no spread and no fees. Nobody gains from a faster connection, and nobody loses to a hidden cost.
One close for everyone
At the close all open positions are closed automatically and valued at the price of that moment. If no verifiable price exists for that second, the round is voided and all stakes are returned. The result does not depend on who refreshed last.
A record afterwards
Every finished round gets a result page with its own link and preview image, so the group chat sees the same ranking. Every result also moves your Elo rating, so a rematch has a history.
If the group is bigger than ten
Scheduled sessions at the London and New York open have no seat limit. Everyone who signs up trades the same 30-minute round at the same second, and the payout scales with the number of participants. For a standing group, the weekly league puts eight players in a division with one 15-minute duel per day and promotion for the top two.
Frequently asked
How many friends can join one round?
Two, five or ten players per round. A 1v1 pays the winner, a 5-player round pays the top two, and a 10-player round pays the top three, split 50, 30 and 20 percent of the pot of chips.
Do my friends need to pay anything?
No. Signing up is free and needs no payment details. Everyone starts with 500 chips. Chips are play money with no monetary value and cannot be bought, deposited or withdrawn.
What if we are not all online at the same time?
Pick a longer round. A private round can run from 15 minutes to a full week, and a week-long round settles at the same closing price for everyone no matter when each person last looked.
Can we play stocks?
Not on RingSide. Rounds trade crypto pairs such as BTC, ETH and SOL, and gold. For a stock game with friends, a stock simulator with private games is the better fit.
Is this gambling?
No. It is a game of skill with play money. The result comes from trading decisions, not chance, and there is no real money involved and no payout in money.
Play money, no deposits, no investment advice.
RingSide chips have no monetary value and cannot be bought, deposited or withdrawn. Nothing on this page is a recommendation to buy or sell anything. What the platform is and is not stands in the risk notice.
